Your data, your control

Privacy Policy

Applies to ClassFormr and all services under classhelpr.com

Effective Date: March 7, 2026

Section 1

Who We Are

ClassHelpr operates classhelpr.com and its associated tools, including ClassFormr. Our tools help K–12 educators create assessments and manage classroom workflows using artificial intelligence.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data. It applies to all current and future services offered under the ClassHelpr platform.

Section 2

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google profile picture. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Content You Provide: When you use our tools, you may upload files (PDFs, documents, images) or provide URLs. These are processed to generate your requested output (such as quiz questions) and are not retained after processing is complete.

Google Drive Access: With your explicit permission, we access your Google Drive to export generated content (such as Google Forms quizzes) into a dedicated folder. We only read files you explicitly select through Google Drive Picker, and we only write to folders our tools create.

Usage Data: We collect basic analytics such as pages visited, features used, and error logs to improve our service. This data is anonymized wherever possible.

Error and Performance Data: We use Sentry for error tracking. When an error occurs, technical information about the error (such as stack traces and browser type) is sent to Sentry. This data does not include the content of your uploaded files.

Section 3

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide, maintain, and improve our services:

  • To authenticate your account and manage your session.
  • To process your uploaded content and generate assessments or other outputs.
  • To export generated content to your Google Drive on your behalf.
  • To diagnose errors, monitor performance, and improve reliability.
  • To communicate with you about service updates or respond to support requests.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your uploaded educational content to train AI models.

Section 4

Third-Party Services

To deliver our services, we work with the following third-party providers:

  • Google APIs — Authentication (OAuth), Drive, Forms, and Docs APIs for content export.
  • Google Gemini (via Vercel AI SDK) — AI processing for content analysis and question generation.
  • Supabase — Authentication and temporary file storage.
  • Railway — Application hosting.
  • Sentry — Error monitoring and performance tracking. Only technical error data is shared.

Each of these providers maintains their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Section 5

Data Retention

We aim to minimize the data we store:

  • Uploaded files are processed in real time and are not stored permanently. Files in temporary storage are automatically deleted.
  • Your account information (name, email) is retained as long as your account is active.
  • Usage and error logs are retained for up to 90 days for troubleshooting purposes, then automatically deleted.
  • Generated quizzes and documents are stored in your own Google Drive, under your control — not ours.
Section 6

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit.
  • Google OAuth for authentication, so we never handle your password.
  • Row Level Security (RLS) on our database to ensure users can only access their own data.
  • Environment variables and secrets management for API keys and credentials.

No system is perfectly secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access — You can request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Deletion — You can request that we delete your account and associated data by contacting us. Content already exported to your Google Drive is under your control.
  • Revoke Access — You can revoke ClassHelpr's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account permissions settings.
  • Opt Out of Analytics — You may use browser-based tools (such as ad blockers or Do Not Track settings) to limit analytics collection.

Children's Privacy

ClassHelpr is designed for use by educators, not directly by students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a teacher using our tools in a classroom setting, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable student privacy laws (such as COPPA or FERPA) in your jurisdiction.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

Google API Services User Data Policy

ClassHelpr's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We only request the Google OAuth scopes necessary to provide our service.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising or for purposes unrelated to the service.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as needed to provide or improve the service, or as required by law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice within the service.
